Wine Aerators

A decanter works. It also has to be fetched, filled, waited on and washed, which is why most decanters live in a cupboard. An aerator does the same job in the few seconds it takes to pour a glass.

The VinOair sits in the bottle neck and pulls the wine through a dual chamber that draws in roughly twice the air of a single-chamber aerator, so a young red softens and opens up on its way to the glass. The VinOstream aerates and dispenses in one motion. Wondering whether you need one at all? That is the question in do wine aerators work?

Questions

Aerator or decanter?

An aerator is quicker: it works as you pour, one glass at a time. A decanter aerates the whole bottle at once, and on an older wine it also leaves the sediment behind in the bottle.

How many bottles does a VinOstream cartridge handle?

Each cartridge aerates and dispenses about two and a half 750 ml bottles.
