With the sides on this, it is impossible to get the cork off the peg. It's a one time use gadget.

Have been using regular cork pops for years. The longer needle on the legacy model is much more effective, especially on artificial corks. However removing the cork from the needle is much more difficult than the regular cork pops. Found the foil cutter to not be of much use. Hard to get in the proper cutting location with the needle pressing on the top of the cork.

I have used past wine openers of similar but much less effective design. This one actually works great. Very easy to insert needle with fast results! I have yet used on an old cork and every reason to believe that it will be most effective!

More functional than my old Cork Pops (it was a gift some years ago) …. foil cutter works well and plastic flange guides allow you to protect the needle; also a great design to help remove the cork. All in all a very useful product that performs as advertised.
