Venice (Amarone della Valpolicella, Valpolicella, Soave)


Roberto Anselmiís is a strong, maverick personality. His winery is one of just two Èlite islands within Soave.

In the small town of Soave, Abele, a genial host, ran a small inn named Il Gambero. His winemaking prowess created the renouned company we have today.

Brunelli Guiseppe
Located in San Pietro in Cariano, Brunelli creates both Valpolicellas and Soaves.

Masi Agricola
Its name derives from "Vaio dei Masi" (little valley of the Masi in the valley of the Negrar, in the Valpolicella classico zone ), the first vineyard acquired by the Boscaini family, owners of Masi, at the end of the 18th century.

The Speri estate, in Valpolicella territory, has 133 acres which producing an average of 40,000 cases yearly.

Cantine Tinazzi
Amarone Classico is produced by the wineries of Tinazzi: Corte Vecchia for U.S.A. and Ca' de Rocchi for Europe and Italy.

Zeni Winery
The Zeni family began making wine as far back as 1870, and now create Amarones and other Valpolicella wines.

Antinori Vineyards
Twenty-six generations of the Marchesi Antinori family -- one of less than a handful of families to produce and market wine uninterruptedly for six centuries -- have produced remarkable wines since 1385.

Avignonesi Winery
A fine producer from Montepulciano, with a long history. In 1377, when pope Gregory XI moved the papal residence from France to Rome, some noble families of Avignon left France to follow him. They also make Grappa.

Castello Banfi
Castello Banfi produced award-winning Super Tuscan and Brunello wines in Montalcino. The site also has a history of wine in the area, tourism information, and much more.

Castello di Monterinaldi
Chianti winery, with links, photos, ordering information and more. They offer a Chianti Classico, a Reserva, and a Pesanella "Super Tuscan" red wine.

Rocca delle Macie
The most voluminous producer of Chianti, with tons of on line information about the wines.

Ruffino Wines
"Ruffino single-handedly updated Chianti's image in 1975 - by changing the shape of the bottle. Ruffino's Chianti would now be decanted from a graceful "Florentine" bottle."

Southern Italy (Apulia, Sicily)

Alvis Rallo
A fine creator of Marsala wine, Alvis Rallo was founded in 1860 by the Rallo family. The wine aging area has a capacity of about 13,000 hectolitres in oak casks containing between 20 and 450 hectolitres each.

Buffa Winery
The Buffa winery was founded in 1931, the year in which the present ownersí father began to produce and export Marsala wine in bottles, casks and demijohns.

Donnafugata makes a variety of wines including Lighea Contessa Entellina D.O.C, Opera Unica Marsala Superiore Riserva D.O.C., Tancredi, and Vigna di Gabri Contessa Entellina D.O.C.

Rivera has quite a selection of wine including RosË di Rivera, Bianca di Svevia, Rupicolo di Rivera, Il Falcone, Locorotondo, Piani di Tufara, and much more.

Taurino Azienda Agricola
A series of fine wines including Patriglione, Rosso del Salento, Salento Chardonnay, Salento Rosario, Salice Salentino Rosso and Stria Salento Blanco.

Vini Corvo Duca di Salparuta
Their two specialities are Ala and Brut Riserva, but they also make Colomba Platino, Terre D'Agala, and many other wines.

Piedmont (Barolo, Gavi, etc.)

Marchesi Alfieri Wine
Pinot Nero, La Tota, and other regional grapes are used in these wines. Some of their products include a red Sansoero Grignolino, and a La Tota Barbera d'Asti.

Castellari Bergaglio
Castellari Bergaglio is located in Gavi, and creates five wines: Gavi, Gavi Brise, Gavi di Rovereto, Gavi Pilin and Grappa di Gavi

Cordero di Montezemolo
The winery still has labels from 1890 of their fine wines, which include Barolo, Dolcetto, Arneis, and Chardonnay. The land itself has been owned since 1340.

Ceretto puts out a great variety of wines, including the Barbaresco "Asij" and "Asili" wines, a Barolo Bricco Rocche series, Grappa, and La Bernardina series.

Fenocchio Azienda Agricola
Fenocchio includes the Bussia Vineyards, Cannubi Vineyards, Castellero Vineyards, and Pugnane Vineyards.

Gigi Rosso Barolo
Gigi Rossi creates twelve fine wines including a Barolo SrÏ dell'Ulivo. Gorgeous site leads you through the characteristics of each.

Marchesi di Barolo
Marchesi di Barolo is made up of a series of small, unique vineyards: Cannubi, Cannubi Valletta, Sarmassa, Brunate and Coste di Rose.

Rovereto Gavi di Gavi
The soil on which these vineyards are sited are mainly composed of limestone and of volcanic clay, with very low yields.

Mauro Sebaste
A lovely site with information about this unique wines, including Langhe DOC Freisa and a series of grappas.

Tenuta Cá Da Meo
Producer of Gavi wine, Tenuta Cá Da Meo is located on eleven hectares of soft, hilly and vine cultivated land in Pratolungo - Gavi.


Azienda Vinicola Amilio Franzoni
Established only in 1910, and located just outside of Rome, this winery sells a number of wines and grappa.

Tenuta Poggio del Lupo
Tenuta is located in the Orvieto area. They specialize in red table wine (Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo grapes) and more.

Northeastern (Turin, Friuli, Asti, etc.)

Arione Wine and Asti
The Arione winery creates both fine wines and Asti Spumantis. The site is in Italian.

Aziende Agricole Friulane Banear
Banear is made up of nine associated estates whose vineyards are located in the Friuliís most renowned wine-growing areas: Collio, Colli Orientali and Grave del Friuli.

Aziende Vitivinicole Valle
Valle puts out four series - Araldica, San Blas, Gigi Valle Collection, and the Valle Line.

Bolla Wines
Chardonnays, merlots, and much more. They make Amarone wine from Valpolicella grapes, which is a rich ruby color. The Amarone is only made in small batches and is sought-after.

Campagnola SpA
A series of fine wines including a 'Vigneti Monte Foscarino', 'Vigneti di Purano', Sauvignon, grappa, and even olive oil.

Cantina di Soave
They produce Veronese D.O.C. wines such as Soave, Valpolicella, Bardolino, Bianco di Custoza and Garda. They also produce quite a few major 'standard' wines.

Cocchi Asti Spumanti
Giulio Cocchi is the only active producer still remaining within the confines of the historic city of Asti; and the company makes small quantities only by selecting the best Moscato grapes from the hills of the Asti region.

Elena Walch Wines
In 1985 former architect Elena Walch began producing classic varietal wines deriving esclusively from the Castel Ringberg and Kastelaz estates.

The Masi Winery
Seventeen vineyards are in the Valpolicella classico zone, four vineyards are in the Bardolino classico area, and the rest are in the Soave classico.

Santero Winery
Santero creates a DOCG Asti, a Moscato d'Asti, a Barbera d'Asti, and quite a few other wines.

Zonin is made up of many vineyards across northern and central Italy, including Femuta il Bosco, Castello del Poggio, Abbazia Monte Oliveto, and many more.
