Carmel
Mizrachi
Baron Edmund de Rothschild founded wineries in Rishon Le'Zion
and in Zichron Ya'akov in 1880. In 1957, James de Rothschild,
his son, sold the wineries to the "Societe Cooperative Vigneronne
des Grandes Caves", the viticulturists society, which includes
nearly 800 members.
Dalton
Winery
The Dalton Winery is located in the Moshav Kerem Ben Zimra in
the Upper Galilee.It is a small winery currently producing 150,000
bottles of high quality table wine per annum. In 1999 the new
vineyards will begin bearing fruit and production will increase
to approximately 400,000 bottles per year.
Domaine
du Castel
Based in Ramat Raziel Haute-Judee, Israel, Domaine du Castle
creates a Gran Vin Castel Haute Judee which has gardered a lot
of praise.
Golan
Heights Winery
In 1972, Dr. Cornelius Ough from UC Davis, California, visited
the Golan Heights, and after a close inspection of the area,
claimed that the soil and the cool, mountain climate were ideal
viticulturally. Siting and planting the vineyards commenced in
1976, and the winery, then named "Hatzor", was built
in 1983.
