The winery name, "Qupé," is the Chumash Indian
word for California poppy. Bob Lindquist, owner of Qupé
Winery, is one of Santa Barbara County's leading winemakers as
well as one of California's original "Rhone Rangers."
Santa Barbara Winery
In 1962, Pierre Lafond re-established Santa Barbara County's
Winemaking tradition by founding Santa Barbara Winery. The Winery
was the first since prohibition.
