Dear Valued Customers:
Cork Pops, Inc. has been a leader in the wine accessory business for several years with our screwless wine opener becoming a common household utensil. One element of our success has been our practice of continually reviewing and testing our products to ensure that we maintain the highest level of product safety and reliability. This commitment has helped us maintain a flawless record of product safety for over ten years.
With new packaging being introduced regularly by wine manufacturers and other packaged goods companies, we want to remind consumers that our product currently includes a warning/disclaimer that the Cork Pop is not to be used on Champagne, Sparkling or odd shaped bottles. We strongly advise that consumers not use a Cork Pop to open non-cylindrical, odd shaped still wine bottles.
As a continued commitment to consumer safety, we have expanded upon our warning label. It now reads, "WARNING: Contents under pressure. KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN. Do not puncture, incinerate or store above 120°F. Do not use on Champagne, Sparkling or odd shaped bottles, including square, rectangular, mixed i.e. square to rounded. Misuse could cause fracture. A flawed bottle could rupture. If sprayed in eyes or on skin flush with warm water. If irritation occurs, see physician. Use only as directed. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling contents can be harmful or fatal. Contains R-134A."
We are also adding additional labels to our products, posting this information on our website and have advised our sales staff to inform all of our retailers to be mindful of our product's intended use.
We appreciate your support of our products and know you share our concern to continue to uphold our tradition of product safety. If you have any concerns, please contact us by e-mail at CorkpopsPR@aol.com.
Sincerely,
William F. Federighi
President
